Nowadays, documenting a newborn baby’s growth and development have become even more popular through baby photography and is quickly becoming a must for anybody who has a new addition in their family. Newborn baby photography is something you have a very small window for, but if you have the chance, take it before they’ve grown up and left the nest!
My first encounter with families is often as a pregnancy photographer, capturing the first stage of family photos, which then naturally leads on to baby photography. All of my existing customers get free portrait sessions for life, so if we’ve worked together previously maybe for wedding photography or maternity photography then you don’t have to pay for your session, which can save quite a bit in the first few years of your child’s development.
We all know that babies grow up too quickly, so it’s important to act early on and book a portrait session with a professional baby photographer sooner rather than later. Every stage of a baby’s life is a series of special moments and photography is a way to capture those moments at the right time.
Some people think that being baby photographer is very simple. It requires attitude towards the profession and sufficient knowledge on photography as well as months and years of practice or working with young ones, not to say bags of patience.
When I’m working as a photographer at weddings or a portrait photographer a lot of the time I can instruct the subjects to act according to my wishes to get the best pictures. But with newborn photography you have to use very different techniques, which can mean rolling on the floor making stupid sounds , I often wonder if taking baby photographs is good for my health!
Studio based baby photographer – a photo shoot no matter what weather!
Most of the time my baby Photography sessions can take place at my studio in Wokingham, just outside Reading . However I also offer baby photography at home sessions in case you can’t travel or would prefer a home visit. The photography sessions last about one hour but my job as a baby photographer is always a bit more challenging as I go by the baby’s schedule which can be very unpredictable, but I always allocate enough time to get great photographs and I will be happy to take a break when feeds and nappy changes are needed.
The job of a photographing babies is not an easy one, but for people who enjoy working with children and love the challenge of capturing the perfect smile, perfect expression, or staging the perfect memory, it can be a very rewarding profession. Above all, baby photographers make every effort to capture your newborn baby’s enthusiasm and character in a timeless portrait. There is a great demand for photographers who can provide classic maternity portraits.
