Maternity photographer - your first family portrait!

 

Having a baby will be one of the most momentous events of your life and something that you will want to cherish, using a professional maternity photographer is a great way to mark this event. After all this will be your very first family photograph!

We had one done for each of our two children and still get asked questions about it when they see them.

I appreciate that pregnancy can be quite a sensitive time for a woman and that maternity photography is a very personal thing so you might not always think about visiting a maternity photographer. I don’t push people to come in, this is something that you will have to feel comfortable doing, if not you can always come in for a baby photography session!

I do a wide range of styles to cater for all tastes and sensitivities; you don’t have to be Demi Moore to experience fantastic maternity photography.

When is best to visit a maternity photographer?

I’d recommend booking a maternity portrait session about 4-6 weeks before your due date. We need a decent sized “bump” to show that you are actually pregnant but not so close that hot towels and a fast car are required!

The pregnancy photography session will take about 1 hour, but I always allocate enough time to get a great range of images. As an experienced maternity photographer I like my clients to have time to enjoy the session and not to feel rushed, plus we will try a mixture of poses and lighting styles.

Don’t worry about stretch marks, most women have them when pregnant, everything is captured digitally and these can be airbrushed out so you’ll have a beautiful  maternity photo to show off!
